Utensils were not all that common but knives were widely used. Hosts were not required to provide knives for their guests so guests brought their own. The fork has two tines with the intention of picking up large food items like slices of ham and other large meat. Exactly what I was looking for
In my quest to get my order total up to the minimum required by the website, I found this set of utensils that I'd been looking to get myself but just hadn't gotten yet. These are perfect. The carrying case can fit on my belt, but I don't wear it (I have enough stuff on my belt). I carry it in my basket and the carrying case keeps the set (and the other things in my basket) safe from damage. I look forward to using these for a long time. They're very well made and I like the twist in the handle that gives it a little pizzazz.
