Our Artisan Old World Unfinished Bowls are perfect for SCA and the Faire to demonstrate how these plates or bowls were finished back in Medieval Times. With a relatively shallow depth these can be used as salad plates or for a good hearty stew. We recommend finishing it in the style of your choice but have heard some people season the wood and protect it from stains and moisture with organic sunflower oil or all-natural Bee's Oil. These unfinished beech hardwood bowls have been used by Decorative Artists, Crafters, Wood burners, Restaurants, Cooking Shops, Weddings and everyone else who needs a sturdy container with the natural warmth of wood. They make wonderful salad and chopping bowls and also make excellent surfaces for Decorative Painting, Rosemaling, Tole Painting, or you can use the bowls just as they are.
