Breastplates and Cuirasses

Breastplate is a piece of armor worn over the torso to protect it from any sort of injury. Breastplates were also deemed to be worn by mythological creatures to signify a distinctive piece of clothing. Cuirass is similar to a breastplate. This armor is created by using single or multiple metal or similar rigid materials that cover the torso. The term cuirass is used when both the breastplate is combined with the back piece.
